Hopf/Glassl 319

NL - West Duitsland, Jaren 50.

Deze mysterieuze gitaar is hoogstwaarschijnlijk voor Hopf gebouwd door Gustaf Glassl.  Met de art-deco kopinleg, pearloyd blockinleg en tortoise bindings en 5 laags celluloid topkam is deze gitaar smaakvol versierd.

Wat bijzonder is aan dit exemplaar, is dat het bovendek, achterzijde en hals zijn afgewerkt met een "redburst", maar dat de zijkanten van de kast blank zijn afgewerkt. Aan het lakwerk is goed te zien dat dit origineel is.

De nitrocellulose afwerking is overigens mooi gecraqueleerd.

Deze gitaar was ooit akoestisch, maar is in een ver verleden van een element en electronica voorzien. (duits 60's style element, en een DIN plug).

De originele slagplaat ontbreekt, alsook de originele stemmechannieken.

Niet meer helemaal in originele staat dus, maar wel een zeer coole player uit de jaren 50.

This mysterious guitar was built for Hopf by Gustaf Glassl.

The art-deco facing on the headstock, pearloyd block inlay and tortoise bindings, and 5 ply celluloid nut give this guitar a tastefully embellished appearance.

A very unique feature of this particular example, is that the top, back and neck are finished in a "redburst", but the ribs are finished in clear laquer. Closer inspection reveals that this must be the original state.

The nitrocellulose finish has developped a nice craquelé.

This guitar used to be acoustic, but in a distant past has been converted into an electric. There is a german 60's style pickup and a DIN plug).

The original scratchplate is missing, as well ast the original machineheads.  Not completely original, but a very cool vintage player from the 1950's.
