NL - Dit boost pedaal is het best op zijn plaats als hij gebruikt wordt met heldere gitaren met een relatief lage output, zoals stratocasters, telecasters, jazzmasters, jaguars, Rickenbackers, Danelectro’s etc.

Bovendien is dit pedaal het best op z’n plaats als je de gitaar hier direct in plugt, oftewel als eerste pedaal op je bord gebruikt.

Dit is namelijk waarvoor hij is ontworpen: Interactie aangaan met de pickups zelf, en daar dan het beste uit halen.

Rekening houdend met die belangrijke eerste plek in de effectketen: Het pedaal is true bypass, en het actieve circuit bestaat volledig uit discrete componenten voor een zo laag mogelijke ruis.

Het pedaal zelf doet twee dingen: Allereerst geeft hij een vlakke boost aan je signaal. Zelfs in de laagste stand is er al een subtiele boost waarneembaar. Maar deze boost is qua frequentieweergave volkomen vlak.

Maar ... er was een reden waarom hij als eerste in de rij moest, en dat is vanwege de “Pickup resonance” schakelaar. In de middelste (0) stand doet hij niets.  Maar in de bovenste (1) stand dwingt hij van de pickup zelf een iets lagere resonantiefrequentie af, waardoor deze wat meer gaat klinken als een humbucker. In de onderste stand (2) is dit effect nog iets extremer, waardoor de resonantiepiek van de pickup zelf nog lager komt te liggen, zoals bij een high output humbucker.

Als je dit pedaal als eerste in de lijn gebruikt dan kun je met die schakelaar dus interactief spelen met de mid respons van de pickups op jouw gitaar.

Dit pedaal is een originele uit de versie 1 serie in zeer nette toestand.

Seymour Duncan took note of things that matter in that first position on the board: The pedal is true bypass, and the active circuit is fully discrete for the lowest possible noise.

The pedal itself does two things: Firstly it gives a flat boost to your signal. Even in it’s lowest setting there is a subtle boost above unity. But frequencywise this boost is completely flat.

But ... there was a reason why this one wanted to be first in line with the pickups, and that is because of the pickup resonace switch. In the middle position (0) it does nothing. But in the top position (1) it obliges the pickup to lower it’s resonant peak into humbucker territory.In the lower switch position (2) this effect is more extreme, lowering the resonantpeak into high output humbucker territory.

If you place this pickup as first pedal in line, the this switch allows you to interactively play with the mid response of the pickups on your guitar.
